Application
To achieve a professional, commercial-grade finish with your Paving Sand, follow these steps:
- Base Layer: Ensure you have a compacted base of GAP20 or GAP7 before applying your sand. This prevents the sand from migrating into the soil below.
- Screeding: Apply a consistent 25-30mm layer of No. 2 Sand. Use a straight-edge screed board to create a perfectly level “bed” before laying your pavers.
- Compaction: Once pavers are laid, use a mechanical plate compactor (with a protective mat) to set the pavers into the sand bed for maximum stability.
- Jointing: For the gaps between pavers, we recommend using our finer No. 1 Sand or a specialised jointing sand to lock the surface together.
