To get the most out of your Lime Chip installation, follow these expert landscaping tips:
- Base Prep: For paths and driveways, ensure you have a compacted base of GAP 20 first. Always lay a Commercial Grade Weedmat to prevent the white stone from mixing with the dark soil.
- Alkalinity Note: Limestone is naturally alkaline. While it’s great for most plants, avoid using it as a mulch directly around acid-loving plants like Camellias, Gardenias, or Azaleas.
- Even Spreading: Aim for a depth of roughly 40mm. This provides enough “weight” to suppress weeds while ensuring the creamy white colour looks solid and uniform.
- Maintenance: To keep your lime chip looking pristine, occasionally blow off leaves and organic debris to prevent tannins from staining the bright stone.
